This post brought to you by the letter A

We've been playing around with learning the alphabet for a while now and doing pretty well at it, but we decided this week that it's time to formalize the process a little bit. So we started yesterday with the letter A



I added the third A because so many of his books use that script. I wrote these out with glue and the Chipmunk had a blast shaking glitter all over them and watching the letters come out. More on that later!

We ate Apples and Apricots and colored the letter A



We talked about Apes and Airplanes and Animals and looked at photo Albums



We painted an Ant later in the day, but I didn't manage pictures of that one. All in all, I think we had a great time and had some good success. We're going to talk about A for one more day and then move on...I've already got a Basket full of B ready to go!

Oh...and the glitter. Hide it when the fun is over - the house will never be the same again!!

Fernbank

We spent the morning yesterday with some friends at the Fernbank Museum of Natural History. They've got a truly fantastic exhibit upstairs geared towards the little guys and we had a blast! I didn't get many pictures (someone wasn't really interested in standing still), but here he's standing in a dugout canoe and telling me that ducks, turtles, and fish all live in the water with the boat :)

Seisiun

For those that don't know, a seisiun is a bunch of traditional musicians sitting around and doing what we do best....playing music. The Chipmunk sat in on his first one yesterday. He played the tambourine and even sang a little with his Mama.
